The Fun Cub comes in an easy to build kit with excellent instructions, and our experience is that the build time for most people should be approximately 8 to 10 hours. Everything for the airframe is included in the kit; all you'll need additionally is glue (regular CA, NOT foam-safe) and a few hand tools. Even if you're a first time builder, the Fun Cub won't be beyond your ability - and you can always call Micro RC Zone for on-going advice if you need it!

While any number of electric motors, servos and other RC components can be installed in a Fun Cub, we have a particular combination that we can supply that has worked quite well in the Fun Cubs we've built and flown ourselves. Couple those items with the optional Micro RC Zone designed Fun Cub landing gear kit (a substitute for the only weak part in the original Fun Cub design: the thin wire landing gear struts) and you'll wind up with a rugged, powerful, robust yet friendly airplane that you'll be proud of! The Fun Cub is a sturdy, tough airplane that can also be easily repaired if something unkind were to happen to it - spare parts are readily available.

Did we mention that the special Elapor foam that the Fun Cub is constructed from is not only fully compatible with regular CA glues (the more expensive foam-safe glues will not work on a Fun Cub), but this special foam will also readily accept nearly any spray paint from Lowes or Home Depot! No expensive modeling paint is necessary on this particular RC airplane, just pick up a spray can of whatever colors of paint you'd like, then spray away! The Fun Cub kit comes with a complete set of decals, and we can provide you with additional sources for special decals if you'd like them.

Once you've got your Fun Cub together and running, you'll find this large (almost five foot wingspan!) but light weight RC airplane is completely compatible in any Park Flyer environment. Takeoffs and landings in high grass, bumpy dirt fields or across short sections of blacktop are a piece of cake. Landings are short and sweet - and with those big flaps the Fun Cub can nearly hover before touchdown. Then you can taxi the airplane right back to you, there's seldom a need to walk out and retrieve it.

The Fun Cub is a novice/beginner's heaven, because the Fun Cub is slow and forgiving. But if you've developed your RC skills to intermediate and beyond, you can get the Fun Cub to do all sorts of exotic acrobatics and stylish flying.
